What was adopted

The Press adopted a permanent, versioned governance framework. Five governing manuals were ingested in rank order: the Editorial, Research & Publication Manual (Editorial Constitution); the Canonical Treatise Architecture; the Editorial Manual; the Legal Research Methodology Manual; and the House Style Guide. §0 Governance Version, §2 Single Source of Truth, and §3 Governance Amendment Rule were established, and a governance changelog was opened.

Why it matters

Editorial decisions are no longer improvised. Where two manuals overlap, the higher-ranked manual governs. Governance documents may not be modified except under the Amendment Rule — Editorial Decision Record, version increment, changelog entry — which makes every change to the Society's institutional standards auditable.

What it governs

The Framework governs every editorial artifact of the Press: collections, treatises, chapters, editorial workflows, research policies, house style, and citation practice. It sits above every workflow and every publication in the Society's editorial platform.

What happens next

Subsequent operationalization work aligns editorial workflows, research policies, publishing scripts, authoring instructions, and persistent memory to the Framework. Future amendments proceed only under §3.
