Research Before Conclusion.

Legal claims often circulate without their statutory, regulatory, procedural, or factual context. The Desk offers three research products, each with a defined scope, a defined deliverable, and a defined turnaround, so that a requester knows what the research covers before submitting a request.

Supported by the authority cited or by the authority that governs it.
Partially supported, in part but not as stated.
Unsupported by the authority located.
Materially qualified by conditions, exceptions, or limiting context.
Outdated or superseded by amendment, repeal, or later authority.
Dependent upon unresolved context that the sources do not settle.

Authority Research

A structured hierarchy of identified governing and materially relevant authority concerning one defined legal issue.

Typical research may include

Constitutional and organic provisions.
Statutes as enacted and as presently codified.
Administrative regulations and agency materials.
Applicable court rules.
Controlling judicial authority within the jurisdiction.
Persuasive authority from other courts where relevant.
Contrary, limiting, or superseding authority located during research.

The schedule records the governing and materially relevant authority identified through the Desk's documented research process. It is not offered as an inventory of every authority bearing on the subject.

The Research Desk's flagship scholarly investigation for complex, layered, historical, regulatory, or multi-source subjects.

§ II

Additions to an accepted scope

Expanded Research Scope

Where a request reaches beyond the scope of a product, the following additions are available at fixed rates.

Expedited review — subject to capacity

Claim Check — twenty-four business hours: +$150
Authority Research — forty-eight business hours: +$350
Research Dossier — five business days: +$750

Expedited service is subject to Research Desk capacity and pre-flight approval. Requesting expedited service does not guarantee availability.

Requests materially outside these parameters receive an individualised scope assessment before work begins. Applicable taxes, if any, calculated at checkout.

§ III

How a request is accepted

Research Begins After Scope Acceptance.

Completing an intake does not begin research. A submitted request enters scope review first.
The Desk reviews each request to confirm that the question is defined, the jurisdiction is identifiable, and the product matches the work required.
Additional propositions, further jurisdictions, or larger source volumes may require a scope adjustment before acceptance.
The requester sees the final accepted scope and the final price before any payment is taken.
The turnaround period begins only after the scope is accepted and payment is confirmed.

§ IV

Affirmative scope

What the Research Desk Does

Identify the primary legal authority bearing on a defined proposition or subject.
Retrieve and verify statutes, regulations, cases, court rules, and government materials against official texts.
Verify quotations and citations against the source as published.
Determine whether cited authority has been amended, repealed, superseded, narrowed, vacated, or overruled.
Organise governing and materially relevant authority by hierarchy and jurisdiction.
Identify contrary or limiting authority located during research.
Trace statutory or regulatory history within the accepted research scope.
Produce documented research findings with source references and links.

§ V

Boundary of the service

What the Research Desk Does Not Provide

Legal representation before any court, agency, or tribunal.
Individualised legal advice concerning any person's rights, duties, or remedies.
Litigation strategy or case assessment.
Predictions of how any court would decide a matter.
Recommendations regarding what a person should file.
Procedural or filing instructions.
Drafting of pleadings, motions, or legal instruments.
Attorney-client services.

The Real Law Society is not a law firm and does not represent clients. Use of the Research Desk creates no attorney-client relationship, and materials submitted to the Desk are not received as attorney-client privileged communications. Research findings describe sources; they are not a substitute for a licensed attorney engaged on a particular matter.

§ VI

Standard of findings

Research Is Not Purchased Validation.

The Research Desk is compensated for the research process and the documented findings, not for confirmation of a requested position. A finding that does not support the proposition submitted does not constitute grounds for a refund.

The Desk does not fabricate supporting authority where none exists.
The Desk does not conceal, minimise, or distort contrary authority.
The Desk does not promise validation of a submitted claim or position.
The Desk reports the authority it identifies objectively, including where that authority contradicts the proposition submitted.

§ VII

Intake

Submit a Research Request

Secure online intake is being prepared.

Requests will be received through a structured intake within a verified Real Law Society account, so that each request states the proposition or subject, the jurisdiction, and the materials already in hand. Source materials will be submitted privately and retrieved from the account itself rather than by electronic mail.

Until the intake opens, no research request can be submitted and no payment is taken. This section stands as the reserved place for it.
