The Society's canonical institutional procedure for receiving and addressing notices of alleged copyright infringement.

Institutional Posture
The Society respects the intellectual property of others and expects the same of its members and contributors. It receives and addresses notices of alleged infringement in accordance with the principles set out in this Policy.
Notices of Alleged Infringement
A notice of alleged infringement directed to the Society should be made in writing to the Society's designated office and should include the elements customarily required for such notices.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material alleged to be infringing, with sufficient particularity to enable the Society to locate it.
- Contact information for the complainant.
- A statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorised.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that the complainant is authorised to act on behalf of the rights holder.
- The physical or electronic signature of the complainant or an authorised representative.
Institutional Response
Upon receipt of a notice that substantially complies with the foregoing, the Society will consider the notice in good faith and take such institutional action as is appropriate, which may include removal or restriction of the material in question pending further inquiry.
Counter-Notice
A person whose material has been removed or restricted may submit a counter-notice to the Society's designated office, identifying the material, providing contact information, and including a statement, made under penalty of perjury, of good-faith belief that the material was removed in error or misidentification.
Repeat Infringers
The Society reserves the right to terminate, in appropriate institutional circumstances, the access of persons found to be repeat infringers.

This Policy is to be read together with the Copyright Policy and the Terms of Service.
