Abstract
On the scope of the work.
The first annual report of the Real Law Society on the state of primary legal authority — the accessibility of statutes and regulations, the integrity of the published record, and the condition of the recorded instrument.
§ III
Editorial Description
On the structure of the volume.
The report is issued under the imprint of the Society and speaks for the institution. It is intended as a permanent record of the condition of the public legal record at the close of MMXXV.
Part I addresses the accessibility of statutes and regulations at the federal level and in the several states, with attention to the official versions and the costs of access.
Part II treats the integrity of the published record of judicial opinions — what is reported, what is unreported, and what is sealed.
Part III addresses the recorded instrument: the condition of the registry, the standards of indexing, and the costs of public access.
The report closes with a series of recommendations to which the Society holds itself bound in the work of the coming year.
